It’s day 133 of my picture a day weight loss journey and I’m beat!
We’re helping my sister move this week so I’m sure I’ll be reporting lots of sore bones and impromptu workouts.
I actually really enjoy moving. It always feels like a fresh start when you get to move into a new home, even just temporarily.
We moved a lot growing up. By the time I was 15 we’d lived in 13 different houses, so change isn’t as hard for me to embrace as my poor husband who basically grew up in the same house all his life. There’s nothing wrong with that, and we’re actually doing that with our own kids right now, but sometimes it does make it hard for Andrew to get over the changes I NEED to make in our home once a year or so.
I get an itch to move things around and it usually involves moving furniture from one room to another or something like that. It’s my own way of feeling like a fresh start is afoot.
We don’t really have anything major to freshly start from, but that feeling of being able to take on new challenges or, for me, reorganize the way we live (something that gives me immense joy…I’m sick, I know), ahhhhhh, there’s nothing like it in the world.
So I’m enjoying this move and helping my sister get set up in her new place.
Probably the coolest thing is that they are moving into a house we rented for about five years. We brought our first daughter home to that house and raised two puppies. We threw parties in that house and provided a place to live for special people in need. We loved that house, and now my sister and her family get to make it their own and fall in love with it for all their own reasons. Sigh…what a special house. I’m so happy for them.
A good home is a special blessing.
