It’s day 156 of my picture a day weight loss journey and thank goodness for NyQuil, amiright???
Feeling well rested after an early bedtime and medicated sleep aid last night.
Today is “wash every single blanket, stuffed animal, pillow, and towel in the whole house” day. This is the first time that all five of us have gotten super sick all at the same time. Now that we are all on the mend, its time to wash absolutely everything to rid us of any lingering germs.
Im definitely tempted to be super annoyed that I’ll be doing laundry all.day.long, but mostly all I feel is gratitude.
Im thankful for the fact that Andrew takes care of us so well and works so hard, such that when we need to see the doctor, we can. I’m thankful for medicine and that on the rare occasions we need them, antibiotics are easily accessible. I’m thankful for my washing machine and the fact that I can clean my linens quickly and effectively to rid of harmful germs. I’m thankful that I get to be a stay-at-home mom and that I have the time and ability to spend all day doing laundry because it meets the needs of my family. I’m thankful that God has seen fit to allow me to live a life void of any real hardship or toil, such that illness is one of the few issues that measured flow of our day. I’m thankful that I love in a country where I am free to love God and raise my children in the knowledge of Him, such that I can teach them that God is good even when we are sick and hurting.
It’s true that we are sick, but sickness humbles us and causes us to recognize our limitations. For someone with a lifelong struggle against pride, illness is a grace, and for that I praise my good and loving Father.
Until Next Time My Friends,
